Budweiser vs. Heineken
Twitter
Michael Castellan
Just like
in the Facebook blog, Budweiser dominates the competition in the Twitter aspect
as well. Budweiser can be seen on twitter posting an average of every 2 days.
They also like, share, and retweet a lot of their follower’s content which makes
it known that they have a good brand awareness. They are all about the American
dream and most of their tweets make you aware of this, they are proud to be an
American company. They do use the 50/50 rule quite effectively and like to
innovate with new posts but they also promote themselves with good results as
well.

Budweiser’s
most successful recent tweet was the Clydesdale Cam commercial that they posted
on twitter. It had a total of 428k views by the end of the live video.
Heineken on
the other hand is all about the world stage. They do not post to often though,
the time between posts is roughly around 2-3 months. They can be seen to
promote heavily with their tweets around the time of UEFA Champions League, besides that they do not tweet much
else. They tend to use the 100 rules instead of the 50/50 rule meaning they are
all about promotion and very little about new innovation or content. They do
have a lot of green on their page promoting their famous green Heineken bottle
that is very known worldwide.
